
Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, Amelia began her piano lesson at the age of five at the Yamaha Music School. She finished the Pre-Conservatory program at Jakarta Music Foundation in 2003 and from September 2004 she began her study at Codarts, Hogeschool voor Muziek en Dans Rotterdam with professor Stéphane De May.
She completed her Bachelor degree in 2009 with the highest mark, then she received the prestigious Nuffic Huygens scholarship at full tuition to continue the Master program. She got her diploma in June 2011, again with the highest mark.
In the following academic year, she started her second Master study at IMEP (Institut Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie) in Namur, Belgium. During this period she received the scholarship from Festival d’Anniviers in Grimentz, Switzerland and was invited to play in Belgium radio Musiq3. She received her Master Diploma from IMEP in September 2013.
Amelia has been teaching at Codarts as assistant of professor Stéphane De May since 2010, as well as pianist for Menorah Koor, Zangschool Utrecht, Kerk aan het Noordeinde, and Rudolf Steiner College Rotterdam.
As soloist and chamber musician she actively gives performances as Duo Fauré with flutist Federico Dalprà and Scherzando Trio (Paula Pantin Lopez, clarinet & Irene Gabarron, flute). From September 2016 she has been residing in her home country Indonesia and becoming part of piano faculty at Pelita Harapan Conservatory of Music.
